A healthier Africa through harnessing the full potential of genomics research
To develop, mentor and retain African pathogen genomic expertise and excellence in order to improve health outcomes and reduce the burden of communicable diseases across Africa
- To build and retain African capacity and excellence in pathogen genomics
- To bridge the gap between public health community and geneticist through effectively engaging health workers, policy makers and communities
- To translated genetics and genomics data into knowledge relevant for pathogens and communicable disease control, elimination or eradication
PDNA aims to establish itself as a privileged space for the training, communication, production and transmission of genomic-specific knowledge and skills between genomics specialists, healthcare professionals and policy makers in Africa and beyond to enhance the understanding of pathogen genetic diversity and drug susceptibility status and guide impactful interventions and health policies
